Author Guidelines
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Articles must be original (not plagiarism) and have never been published in another journal. If the article has previously been presented in seminars, workshops, or similar academic activities, the author must clearly mention the name of the activity.
- Articles are written using Microsoft Word on A4 size paper with page margins: top 3 cm, left 3 cm, bottom 3 cm, and right 3 cm. The manuscript should be typed using 1.15 line spacing, with Times New Roman font size 11, and formatted in a single-column layout.
- Tables, charts, and figures must be embedded properly in the text by adjusting spacing through the “add space before/after paragraph” feature to ensure readability and consistency.
- Authors must submit their manuscript in Microsoft Word (DOC) or Rich Text Format (RTF).
- The Title and Abstract must be written in English, while the full manuscript may be written in English.
STRUCTURE OF PAPER
The manuscript should range between 4,000 to 6,000 words (without references) and must be written systematically according to the following structure:
- Title: Written concisely and informatively, with a maximum of 15 words (single-spaced), reflecting the core substance of the article.
- Name of Author: Written without academic titles; authors may be individuals or collaborative teams.
- Affiliation: Clearly state the institutional affiliation.
- Abstract: 150–200 words in one paragraph include background, purpose, methods, findings, and significance of the study.
- Keywords: Several terms representing the essential concepts of the study.
Main Body of Manuscript:
- Introduction: Provides the academic background of the study, clearly identifies the research gap or novelty, states the objectives or aims of the study, and presents the main argument. This section should be written in approximately four paragraph and must not contain subsections.
- Literature Review: Presents a critical and conceptual dialogue with existing studies, highlighting key theories, debates, and scholarly positions relevant to the research topic.
- Methods: Describes the research design, types and sources of data, data collection procedures, and data analysis methods. This section should also include a clear ethical justification of the methodology.
- Result: Presents findings in structured subchapters focusing on the most significant empirical or analytical outcomes.
- Discussion: Provides an analytical discussion structured around six paragraph: (1) main findings, (2) variations in findings, (3) normative interpretation (Islamic law), (4) criminological explanation, (5) comparison with existing studies, and (6) policy recommendations.
- Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings and offers a reflective synthesis of the study. This section should highlight the significance of the research for the field, acknowledge its limitations, and provide recommendations for future research.
- References: Lists all cited works.
REFERENCE & CITATION RULES
Reference/Bibliography: Must include all cited sources and should prioritize relevant and up-to-date references (preferably within the last 10 years).
- Direct quotations exceeding four lines must be separated from the main text, single-spaced, using font size 11. Short quotations should be integrated within the text using double quotation marks.
- The citation system uses Body notes based on the American Psychological Association (APA) Style 17th Edition.
- Qur’an citation format: (Qs. Al Mumin [40]: 43). Hadith citation: (H.R. al-Bukhari and Muslim), including reference to printed sources.
- Authors are required to use citation management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or similar tools.
